Global Guides Roundtable: How to evaluate and score your tour

If there’s one thing this downtime gives us, it’s a little extra time to reflect on our performance as guides and operators, and the way we deliver our tours. We’ll have a frank discussion about our favorite techniques and systems for evaluating and scoring our own tours. Hopefully you’ll walk away with an understanding of the benefits of regularly and systematically reflecting on your tour!

Session 2 • 10-11am Pacific

How to create a memorable tour

In this workshop, you’ll learn the difference between a tour that meets expectations and a tour your guests will tell everyone about as soon as they get home.
Walk away with practical formulas that could be implemented on any tour.

Session 3 • 11-12pm Pacific

Developing your tour’s Wow Story

Guides wear so many hats, but perhaps one of the most important is communicator and storyteller. We convey our passion and knowledge through many different types of communication, but in this session we’ll focus on what I call the Wow Story: that single, big moment of delight from your guests as they hang on your every word. We’ll talk about structure and delivery of this crucial moment of the experience.

About Mitch

Mitch is the co-founder of TripSchool, a training organization that focuses on helping tour guides and tour operators raise the bar for their tour experience. He speaks regularly at international conferences, has written four books, and still loves guiding, especially in his home of New York City.
